One of the more difficult areas of video analysis is determining whether a swimmer is at their best technique, completely fatigue or somewhere in the middle. When you are reporting your videos we ask that you estimate the perceived effort, and speed. However, completing a standardized test with results including lap times, heart rate, stroke rate and video (of some portions) is even better as it gives us a wealth of knowledge to analyse your stroke. Provided below are three test set workouts for a range of abilities. Each one has a swim for time, stroke count and kick portions.
- Test Set A
- This test set is designed to challenge a new swimmer. To complete the set you should be able to swim repeats of 100m.
- Test Set B
- This test set is designed to challenge all levels of swimmer. To complete the set you should be able to swim a 400m.
- Test Set C
- This test set is designed to challenge an accomplished swimmer. To complete the set you should be able to control your pace, stroke count and complete a 400m swim.
**** Note if you are struggling to swim more than a lap or two don't worry just get some footage and the time/effort that it took to complete it. ****
